The challenge

Fifty years of existence represents thousands of students, families, teachers, and community members, each of whom experienced the school in their own way. The challenge was therefore not simply to produce an anniversary video.

We had to tell the many facets of Sourp Hagop’s history without reducing five decades to a few minutes of archives and a succession of testimonials. Some content had to revisit the school’s origins, other pieces had to show what it has become today, and still others had to make more room for the memories of those who attended or shaped it.

To achieve this, the mandate included:

  • 5 podcast episodes featuring multiple speakers;
  • 2 documentaries — one on the school’s history and one on what it represents today;
  • 1 corporate video;
  • 1 production featuring 5 alumni;
  • Full 5-camera coverage of the 50th-anniversary gala.

The entire project had to come to life during the official 50th-anniversary celebration in front of nearly 500 people, while remaining relevant long after the event.

Pain Points

  • Transforming 50 years of history into an accessible and cohesive narrative
  • Giving a voice to multiple generations and numerous stakeholders
  • Adapting stories to multiple formats rather than a single video
  • Creating content strong enough to be presented at the gala
  • Also capturing the event itself with a five-camera setup

Creating a true legacy project

Five podcast episodes brought together various stakeholders to preserve stories, memories, and perspectives that would have been difficult to include in a traditional documentary.

Connecting the past to the present

Two documentaries offered complementary perspectives: one dedicated to the history and evolution of Sourp Hagop, and the other to the school as it exists today. A production featuring five alumni and a corporate video rounded out the narrative.

Making content part of the celebration

The productions were presented as part of the 50th anniversary in front of nearly 500 people. ArsenMEDIA also captured the event using five cameras to preserve the moment the community gathered to celebrate this history.

This type of project truly demonstrates what we are capable of achieving in a limited timeframe with a great team.
